First of all - congratulations on releasing HWG 2.0!

A couple of bug reports / questions:

1 - (I was seeing this bug in earlier versions of HWG, but never bothered to report it because I assumed that it would be fixed in v 2.0) - I get very small icons when volumes mount.  Does anyone else get this?

2 - The new USB attached icon is purple - I personally think that white was a nicer colour - it was more in keeping with the built-in Apple Volume / Eject bezels.

3 - There doesn't appear to be any icon for Firewire. in HWG 2.0

Does anyone else get these behaviours on their systems?

Im not sure exactly what would be causing issue one, although unlike
the icons for other monitors, we get those from the system (and yes, I
know the system has larger versions, for some reason we aren't pulling
in a sufficiently sized version). Filed as http://code.google.com/p/growl/issues/detail?id=560.
In general, its best to go ahead and report bugs rather than assume
something will be fixed, as often times things slip through the
cracks.

I know part of the reason for 2. It was changed because the old white
icon looked terrible if you used any white background display style
(it basically disappeared). Perhaps different colors might be better,
but thats not my call.

3 should fixed for the next release of HWGrowl, we had a
capitalization issue in the file names for the icons. If you are
running on a case sensitive file system, that would likely explain
it. In theory you could fix it by renaming the images in the app
bundle's resources from Firewire-On and Firewire-Off to FireWire-On
and FireWire-Off (modifying bundle resources not really supported or
encouraged though as it might mess with things like the bundles
signature). Filed as http://code.google.com/p/growl/issues/detail?id=559.

1 - I'll try and build hwg from source and do some detective work.
2 - Ahh, I see.  How about blue as per the USB logo?   (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Serial_Bus)
3 - Hmm, I'm not using a case-sensitive filesystem...

Sure:

Most notification types aren't large enough to show that the images are (relatively) small - but Bezel and Music Video do:

OK - I've got a fix.

I have no idea of the correct way to submit patches - but I attach a zip of two diff files for the relevant class.

thanks i'll take a look at this tonight, on first skim we won't be using the patch directly since i notice at the bottom that you use TIFFRepresentation, which is not something we want to use for this particular issue.
