1st let me say this is awesome software and I use it almost every day. Started using SDR-Trunk more with local P25 trunking. Maybe GQRX can decode P25-1 and -2 ?

Anywho... been using GQRX for several years on MX-Linux 23. But since I'll eventually need to upgrade that OS, I decided to ... I dunno... work on it before actually needed.

So I went to MX-25, but that distro wouldn't run any of the software I use in PlayOnLinux in MX-23 or Lutris. So I tried the latest Linux Mint 22.2. And the programs ran perfectly.

But here's the thing, while GQRX installs just fine in Mint 22.2 and works, it has strange quirks it doesn't have in MX-23: won't zoom out more than 0.5MHx, cannot click and drag freqs to change current freq. I've tried the appimage, github, and PPA install. they do the same thing. And oddly, it is the same version as the one that works properly in MX-23.

Any of you geniuses have suggestion? because I am stumped.

Graphical UI control issues will be related to your desktop window manager and display drivers, which is why switching Linux distros had an effect, but changing versions of GQRX did not.

Linux Mint is fairly popular, so I'm not surprised that it has better support for your particular hardware than a small distro like MX. You might try a different desktop manager from Mint.

The real question is, which distro and window manager is the GQRX interface developed and tested on? That one will likely work the best.

okay, changed to the earlier version (2.25.9 vs 2.17.7), and now it behaves properly. now sure how to report that to the devs. any help?
