The University of Arizona Libraries are happy to announce the release of Guide on the Side 1.0-beta4.

For this release, we focused on addressing “frame busting” by allowing creators to place GotS into popup mode when they find that the right frame starting URL is not working. We also updated the placement of the navigation arrows (they are now closer to the text), and have made it so that users are able to click on images that are embedded in a tutorial to make them larger. Creators can now also delete quizzes from tutorials. See the full list of changes.

See the upgrade notes for more information. Those installing for the first time may want to start on our website: http://code.library.arizona.edu/gots.

Thanks to all of you for your continued support for and use of GotS!
The Guide on the Side team

P.S. Special thanks to our newest team member, Will Simpson, who did much of the work to get this release ready!

Great news!

Will the existing tutorials still be there after installing the new version? Or do we have to recreate them after installing the new version of Gots?

Great question! As long as the upgrade process is followed, existing tutorials will remain intact. Part of the upgrade process involves backing up the database in case something goes wrong, too.

I tried to used the new release with Moodle. It is an improvement that at least Moodle page is showing now, but  the tutorial appears until users click on the Moodle page to sign in. Users have to use ALT TAB to bring back the tutorial each time they click on Moodle page.

I can't get back to the Admin Index after I exit a tutorial, and have to log out and re-login again each time.
See attached error page.

Hi, you'll have to use pop-up mode in that case most likely.

This should be fixed in the next release. In the meantime, visiting /admin manually should get you back in.

Hi,
I'm trying to upgrade to the new beta version, but getting 'command not found' when I run the command
../lib/Cake/Console/cake Migrations.migration status from the app directory of the new version.

I'm on PHP 5.3.3
and cake 2.6.3.

Any advice about moving forward?

Thanks!
