Showing Annotations for Annotated Timeline Chart

Hi,
   I am using Google Visualization API's "Annotated Timeline Chart" in my project to show some Trends over Time.
In my chart I need to show Annotation Markers/Labels(i.e A,B,C, etc). I referred to the following link : -

I tried the Annotation thing but the issue is that i can only see the Annotations on specific line on my chart.
I need to show it at the bottom above X-axis. My X-axis is a Date Column. So I cant add "Annotation title" and
"Annotation text" after Date column as it requires The column to be Date. Is there any other way around to achieve it?
I want my annotations to be placed as shown in following chart at the bottom:-

You can't do that with an AnnotatedTimeline chart, but you can do it with a regular LineChart.  Throw in a ChartRangeFilter and you have 95% of the functionality of an AnnotatedTimeline.  Here's an example: http://jsfiddle.net/asgallant/9qZfN/

Is there any specific reason why I cant do it for Annotated Timeline chart? Atleast I should be able to change the color of the Annotation flag. Can I achieve that?

The ATL charts are really old, and don't use the same format and options as the newer charts.  The charts team just released the replacement for the ATL charts yesterday (the replacement is called AnnotationChart).  The documentation for the new chart is not up yet, but it may be able to do what you want.

The new AnnotationChart was targeted at being a drop-in replacement for the old AnnotatedTimeline, so it doesn't expose any new features yet.  Subsequent releases will focus on addressing the long-standing requests for new features, so I will keep Kishan's two ideas in mind.

The implementation of this new AnnotationChart was, by the way, inspired very much by Drew's implementation of a replacement for the AnnotatedTimeline which also used a Dashboard that wraps the chart and ChartRangeFilter.

Thanks for the Documentation Jon. But I think as mentioned by Daniel the documentation for the new Annotation Chart does not satisfy what I want as of yet. It would be great if you Guys have some workaround. I really want this functionality to work.

Hi Kishan,

You can change the color of the annotation boxes in area, bar, column, combo, line, and scatter charts -- but not in either the Annotation Chart or the Annotated Timeline.  If it's important to you to control that color, asgallant's suggestion upthread is the best you can do.

We will improve the customizability of the Annotation Chart to let you fine-tune the colors, but it'll be a while before we can get to it.
