Add label to column/bar chart series

I want to add labels to column and bar chart series. According to this post https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/google-visualization-api/add$20label$20to$20column$20chart/google-visualization-api/AiTRx31ZvsI/etd5KT6AA3kJ, it is not supported. As it is more than a year old, is it still the case? If yes, is there any plan to add this in future? Are there any work around for this?

It is coming out as a deal breaker for our requirement. I have tried our a work around with combo chart for bar chart but same is not possible for column chart.

It is still not supported.  If you found a work-around for BarCharts, I'd like to see it.  Here's a work-around for the ColumnCharts: http://jsfiddle.net/asgallant/QjQNX/

Thanks alot Denisson. I got it working for my case after few changes. But a file svg2vml.js is missing. 

If I am not wrong it is needed for older IE versions. Where can I find it?
