Hi,

I'm trying to create an new instance, however even after enabling I get an error saying "You cannot create new instances because billing is disabled", but the console shows that billing is enabled and active

My project id is "jslsolucoes" .

Another question : If my instance with 2 databases installeds get the maximum storage (10GB) i will payied just for aditional storage or i have to create a new instance and that new instance will access the same databases ?

Hi,
What is your numerical project id?  (the number portion in the API console URL)

For your second question, could you clarify it a bit? What is the use case you have in mind?

Sorry , the number is 38855119945 .

About the second question :

i have a instance named jslsolucoes:app with two databases created : tagria and faturamento , when the maximum size (10GB) of storage is reached , the applications will crash because the size of database ? Or nothing happens and i will pay just for extra storage (10GB) + extra GB that is used ?

About documentation :

"Use of storage or I/O over the included quota is charged at the Per Use rate ($0.24 per GB per month for storage, $0.10 per Million of I/Os). The maximum storage for any instance is currently 10GB. "

In short
: How can I use more than 10GB for the same databases .
Create a new instance ? But when i create a new instance the same databases is avaiable ???

You should be able to create new instances now.

As for the storage limit question, once you've reached the maximum size, mysql won't be able to write to disk anymore. Once you're in that state, mysql might crash or hang.

If you really need to go beyond 10 GB, you can consider sharding your data into separate cloud sql instances. See http://stackoverflow.com/questions/292039/resources-for-database-sharding-and-partitioning.

Hi Tony,

I am having a similar problem.  Billing is enabled, but it will not allow me to create new instances with a 'billing is disabled' message.  My project ID number is 1069739431484.  Is this something I can fix from my end in the future?  The project is new, I didn't see any documentation about waiting X hrs after getting the enabled billing message.

Sorry for the reply/hijack, but there are so many similar topics I figured this would get more notice and not flood the more whinging

Tony,

Unfortunately I am also getting the same error. I have disabled and re-enabled billing, waited several minutes, but still can not create a new Cloud SQL instance "because billing is disabled".

My project ID is: 928506152932

Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

It worked!

It actually returned an error, but refreshing the page showed that it had created the database instance correctly. The problem was with refreshing the page listing all the database instances.

Thank you,
Jason B.

Thank you, Tony.

We're really in a hurry for this. We're facing some problems to generate reports using Google Datastore and the Cloud SQL is our salvation ;)

Andre - your issue should be resolved. Please let us know if you're still unable to create a new Cloud SQL instance.

Have you enabled billing? D0 is free but it requires the billing to be enabled.

Hi Kiran,
Your project does not appear to have billing enabled. As Razvan said, you'll need to enable billing before you can create a new D0 instance.
