Yeah. Many Google tools have a significant delta between the UI and the API (UI-only features, or API-only features; or stuff that just works differently between the two), but Groups is more egregious than most.
For example: there’s an API to put stuff into the archive for a Group, but none to access the contents of that archive. And you can access the archive via the UI, but not add anything to it.
I dream of a day when Google finally learns the wisdom of API-first development….
