I'm relatively new to the Admob ad platform, and so at the same time, also new to the mediation. But I've read as much as I could and implemented various ad networks successfully, according to business requirements, including a fully implemented Custom Event for Wapstart to cover Russia, where iAd doesn't support.
So, I'm using the ad mediation on iOS, and I've found after impementing Wapstart, and more recently i-Mobile, that the breakdown of percentages doesn't seem to do anything.
I created a Russian region with:
1% Admob
1% iAd
98% Wapstart
and the default ad network breakdown
98%Admob
1% iAd
1% Wapstart
Now often, I was getting iAd every-other refresh, and Admob.
when I switch the settings in the iPhone or simulator to Russian language and Russia region, the results are the same.
I may have to provide more information, but hopefully this information paints a picture that others have seen and may advise with experience!
Currently, the settings are changed to 100% for the primary ad network, and so in North America where I am, I'm getting all admob, and no iAd, but switching to Russia, I get no Wapstart. Is there a caching mechanism for the device region/language within the Admob Mediation static library?
The other thing that confused me is why when I was using 98% vs 1%, it was switching ad network every refresh. That lead me to think there is a decision within the static library or on the server to restrict against the previous adnetwork source if there is no specific ad network with 100%.
