I am trying to promote my own app by starting an android Admob campaign. The ad creative is an interstitial which has now been approved. The status of the campaign is always a red triangle with an exclamation mark. Also, when I tried to run a forecast, it is all 'unavailable', as indicated by an entirely red bar.

I am bidding with:

  • 1,000,000 goal impressions
  • RM1 CPM
  • house ad
  • evenly ad serving pace
  • no cap on impressions
  • interstitial ad unit
  • targeting United Kingdom

What am I missing? I have filled up the AdWord Billing form. I have switched the view range to Today. I have waited for 12 hours and there is still no impression.

Hello,

The Campaign Ad Status is only an indication of whether the campaign is in progress to complete the goal set for it. If it determines that the goal might not be reached, then the red error would be shown. Now, this will not stop your campaign from being run and I would suggest that you try again in a few hours and see if you are able to load any ads from your campaign. If it's still not reporting any numbers, then you can contact our AdMob Product Support team who deals with all account related queries.

I have already waited for days and I am not seeing any impressions being reported. How do I contact AdMob Product Support team? The link you gave was just a webpage. Could you contact them for me?

Hi Chong,

Unfortunately, I would only be able to provide support for SDK implementation of our Mobile Ads SDK.  Make sure that you login with your Gmail/Admob account to access the links. You would have to fill out the form via the Contact Us button on the upper right hand side of this page. If you are still not able to access the link which I have provided then that could be because your AdMob account falls under this category (earning less than $25 a week). I would suggest that you use AdMob Help Center for further assistance.

Doesn't Google provide any support to the developers? After days of trying I still have absolutely no clue as to why my ads aren't being served. It is rather frustrating.

This is my first app. How do you expect me to earn $25 a week prior to any advertisement?

Hi Chong,

I feel as frustrated as you. so many days passed my issue is still unsolved. I filled in the form, and they only replied me with "could you make it clearer?"

For you issue, did you compare the admob network CPM with your campaign's CPM?

To my understanding, If the admob network price is too low, the app seems will request for ads network first, instead of your house campaign.

Hi Chong,

If the mediation network's eCPM has a low value, then AdMob would be served with a higher chance. Can you check the eCPM floor values and try again? Do let us know if you are able to load ads from your campaign once you have set a higher eCPM value.

What does the 'admob network' refer to?

What does an advertiser's campaign have to do with the publisher's mediation network? Should I set a lower or higher eCPM? I have tried different CPM values to no avail.

Hi Chong,

When you set an eCPM floor value, the AdMob Network will return ads only if the per-impression eCPM is above the floor value that you set. If the per-impression eCPM does not meet the floor value, the request will not be filled by the AdMob Network and mediation will continue as normal. You can go through this page to learn more about how eCPM works.

Can you share your Ad Unit ID for us to test it on our end? AdMob network is the de-facto ad network from Google for mobile ads.

Perhaps you have misunderstood. I wish to advertise my app in others' apps, not publish others' ads in my app.

Hi Chong,

If you want to advertise, then you would have to use AdWords. You can check this article for more guidance. Mobile Ads SDK is used to publish ads via your app.
