Hi guys,

I have a game developed in unity with admob integration.

When building the game for ios and android, there is an option for ios:
requiresPersistentWiFi with a box to be ticked on or off

And for android:
Internet Access: options are "auto" and "required"

Now i've always left the box unticked, and "auto" for android and my apps never had trouble requesting and displaying ads,
however  I haven't tested my apps for very long test sessions, and apple says if it's unchecked and wifi is not used then it will turn off the wifi hardware in 30 minutes.

Would admob turn it back on when the time comes to request a new ad?

There's not much information regarding this online.
I was previously suggested that there's no problems and it does turn on the wifi when it needs it. Looking for a second opinion.

Hi there,

You can have the default options for both Android and iOS Player Settings in Unity.
  • In Android, you can leave the 'Internet Access' option to be Auto and there would not be any problem with your app requesting ads through Mobile Ads SDK.
  • The same goes with iOS, where disabling the 'Requires Persistent Wifi' option would not cause any issue.
Thanks,
