Hi all. Does anybody using go with infiniband to transfer data?
Or create some bindings to infiniband verbs?

We are trying our best to open source our infiniband bindings library and another "TCP" over infiniband library, but we will have to wait and see, since it is not totally up to us.
It requires open sourcing quite a few of our other libraries and their are some other complications.
Unfortunately that is all I can say at this stage.

Thanks for the update. Any sense for when a decision will be made? Weeks? Years?

Not Years.  Definitely Weeks.
Unfortunately I don't know more than that at this stage.
We are kind of in the same position, until I get some feedback.
If the feedback is yes, I just need to do some refactoring to some github repositories, which should take about a week, to be safe.

Hi guys,

I'm happy to announce that our company is open sourcing our Go Infiniband libraries today, along with the shared memory and mount libraries that the Infiniband library requires to function. There is still some work to be done on the user guide side of things, but we decided to rather get it out earlier and then expand the documentation. I'll be happy to accept pull requests for anything from better documentation to added features.

I'll add drone.io integration soon as well as some usage examples.

If you have any feedback or questions, please send me a mail at: john dot gilmore 85 at gmail dot com.

To get at the libraries, just head over to https://github.com/jsgilmore and go get github.com/jsgilmore/ib

Regards
John Gilmore

Thanks a lot. This is a great step for HPC and go! When you get a chance, could you add a quick intro and hello world cluster example? The RC stuff makes it seem like it works like the net package, but about half the functions don’t have an obvious net counterpart.

Thanks

Hi guys,

Have a look at the ib package tests to see some examples of how to use the library.

Regards
John
