Works for me.

What are you actually seeing.  A report of "it doesn't work" without any information isn't helpful to those who would like to solve your problem.

Login fails despite correct email and Google password.
I've had to downgrade firefox back to 18 in order to keep working with this add-on

Actually I haven't although I doubt if it helps AS my browser option is never to remember history.
As I'm perfectly content with Firefox 18 and frankly I'm weary of Mozilla's updates' frequency - i've checked the option to never look for browser updates.

Not sure if you can even come close to the mandatory privacy settings as long as your basically surfing in Private Mode all the time.

I'll give it  a try and switch to "use custom setting for history"

Still doesn't accept login name and pw even under Firefox 18.
it's working properly under FF 18 once I log into Google or gmail, in version 19 it's not working even after proper authentication to Google.

Not working for me either.  Automatic update to FF19 rendered GMarks unable to work, even clicking "refresh"

I am in fact running FF 19.0 and Gmarks is working. Actually I finally made it work again after I updated to v19.. it wasn't working for a long time for me, at least through v17-18.

Check out my earlier post: https://groups.google.com/forum/?hl=en&fromgroups#!topic/gmarks/TCCKXlEf_Go

Hi,
I've solved the problems by changing the privacy option about Firefox remembering history and it's working fine.even under version 21
Thank you

I don't know about the Firefox version, but I think there are two logon issues at play here.

If you are entering your Google login information into the GMarks options panel, I don't think that will work.  Google changed the URL for logons (several years ago) and I don't think GMarks has been updated to work with the new URL.

Without GMarks auto-logon, it will only work if the Google Bookmarks cookie (the one that tracks your logon) is present.  It frequently expires.  If you visit https://www.google.com/bookmarks, Google will prompt you for your logon information if the cookie is not present   After logging on, a GMarks refresh should work.

If you are configured to not store cookies, then GMarks will not work because it won't have the Google-logon cookie and it won't be able to do its own logon.  If you are configured to store cookies, but purging them at the end of your session, then you'll have to do the logon/refresh cycle every time you start your web browser.

I have been dealing with this situation for many many releases of Firefox.  It's not new, but changes in default security settings in Firefox may have changed your observed behavior.

Thanks, worked for me!

GMarks already looked like  signed in: "Sign In" option not displayed in GMarks menu after password entered, but no bookmarks were loaded.

Opened https://accounts.google.com/DisplayUnlockCaptcha, logged in, got the message:

Next step

Sign in using the application you want to authorize access to your account within the next ten minutes. Google will remember the application after it signs in, and will allow it to access your account in the future as long as it uses the correct password.

Refreshed GMarks, bookmarks immediately appeared.
