Has anyone else noticed that -is:starred is no longer working to sort emails that are not starred? is:starred continues to work, just not with the negative. Has anyone figured a work around on this? I love being able to sort out all my unstarred emails! Thanks,

No, cause it's working perfectly for me.  Not only do I have a saved search that uses it, I spontaneously did a search and it worked perfectly.  Have you cleared cache and cookies?  Are you finding conversations where one message is starred, but others aren't?  That would match your search by that one message.

You're right Zack, that's exactly what's happening... some of the messages are not starred in the conversation. so the search criteria is being met. Thank you.
Based on other threads I've read, there's no solution to this "problem". I'm trying to sort out all conversations that have a star on any of the messages in a conversation. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Finding just that ("all conversations that have a star on any of the messages in a conversation") is easy.  It's the opposite that you are having trouble with, right?

Try the following.  Search for "is:starred".  Select All.  Give them all a brand new Label.  Now search for "-label:" with the new label name.  This will bring up only those conversations that have no starred messages.  It works because adding a label adds it to every message in a conversation, whereas starring a conversation stars only one message in the conversation.  When done, delete the new label.

Depending on what you are trying to accomplish, alternatively, you can turn conversation view off.  Then "-is:starred" would not include messages that are starred.  But that might not be what you want.

Thanks Andy,
That's exactly what I needed and works beautifully! I appreciate the help...
