Rich Text Formatting for Android

Hello, Group:

I've given you a much-deserved rest after my lengthy education with you regarding 2SV and even my new smartphone, which is still smarter than I am.  And speaking of that, the February 24 Official Gmail Blog told us about the new feature for Android, rich text formatting.  However, it is not yet happening with my Android.  Am I too impatient, or am I alone?  I even updated Gmail on that device.

Gmail on my 'droid phone​ is the same, no such format option when selecting text. I suspect we'll get another update imminently 😜

While I'm here, someone else also responded to my inquiry, but it was sent to me directly and does not show here on the group's site.  I'm not clear on how that happened.  Do you know?

Finally, how is your dad doing with his smartphone? :-)

Hi again.  Earlier today I received notification of an update for Gmail, and it specifically mentioned rich text formatting.  So I did the update, confirmed it was updated, but still no rich text formatting. What has been anyone else's experience?

​Mine is working now. One has to first select some text by holding down on it, then you will see an 'A' appear in the top of the composer, tap on that.

​Sorry I didn't reply this sooner. I took screenshots on my Android phone by pressing the lock + volume down button simultaneously. These are then synced to Google Photos, which I then just annotated using the very useful Skitch on my PC. There was also an Android app but I see now that they've been discontinued, pity.
I believe they will incorporate the features into the main app, which is Evernote, also useful.

No problem about the delay.  I can use the rich formatting, although I don't most of the time because it takes me longer on my phone.

As for the detailed information you took the time to provide, thank you.  But you should know by now that I don't speak "technology."  I did understand the first sentence and a few other words.🤔😊
