[Discussion] Open Data Day 2015 Celebration in Nepal

Hello Everyone,

Hope you are all doing well an having a good time. Winter is almost over and like every year Open Data Day is so near of Us. This year Open Data Day will take place on Saturday, February 21st 2015, check their Website. I think its a right time to start a Discussion and start planning for it.

Last year we did a bunch of awesome things, with the collaboration of FOSS Nepal Community, Wikimedia Nepal, Mozilla Nepal, NOSK, AOSC, OSAC and Open Knowledge Nepal. If you need some flashback, you can check Blog and Video and I personally enjoyed alot working at Data Visualization + Mozilla Webmaker. But the sad truth, is there was a celebration at two places. I think we shouldn't let this happen this year, Let's plan and let's organized it collaboratively at one place.

What you guys think!!

What should be the right way of celebration this year??

Let's start discussing and I want this discussion to be Hot and Spicy.

Not seriously wanting to join a Hot and Spicy discussion, but wanting to contribute however little I would like to participate in analyzing, visualizing or just plain old discussing data on that day if an event is planned and organized by the FOSS community.

The OSM Nepal community are very much excited for this years Open Data Day. It would be a nice idea to sort out all the things beforehand to avoid confusion like last year. 

I agree with Nikesh that we should work together and make this year's open data day a success. 

I think the best way to approach this years event would be to set a goal on what we would like to achieve from this years celebration. This would guide us is further planning and sorting things out.

Like previous years i think one of our main theme should be raising awareness about Open Data. One immediate thing that i see we can do is to inform people about Open Data Day (and also possibly Software Freedom Day) as events that FOSS Nepal community participates, from the FOSS Nepal stall in CAN.
