This ia a very newbie questions, but, as I am trying out Fluent and describing my taxonomy with CNL, some of my statements are underlined as red, indicating an error (as I can see that the statement is not displaying in the taxonomy), but, I can not find where that error described, so I have no idea how to fix it.

for example,line 2,4,5 are underlined as in someway incorrect, and the two "geozones" have a red link ref under then which, when highlighted, shows a popup of "ozone, gemstone, geology".  How can I add to this 'dictionary'?

Earth is a planet.
SoAm is a geozone.
Argentina is a country.
Buenos Aires is a state.
Cap Fed is a city.
Peru 1699 is a property.

Every city is a state.
Every country is a geozone.
Every geozone is a planet.
Every property is a city.
Every state is a country.

Also, when I changed "is a", which is obviously incorrect (and yet FE still shows it as a dependency) to the correct "be-part-of" (the FE version the OWL "IsPartOf" I don;t get an error, but the taxonomy breaks and the "be-part-of" is not highlighted blue, like "is a" (should it be?).

So, I am wondering where I can find answers to these questions.  I have not found any video or manual that explains such things.  Does one exist? Or maybe even a CNL reference manual

Thanks

Dear Jeff Milton,

You should use Fluent Editor naming convention . Replace in the ontology above:
  • SoAm -> So-Am
  • Buenos Aires -> Buenos-Aires
  • Cap Fed -> Cap-Fed
  • Peru 1699 -> Peru-1699
Fluent Editor grammar documentation and Fluent Editor keyword dictionary are great resources for getting to know English Controlled Natural Language.

Can you recommend any forum that specifically deals with FE or CNL?  I have searched and found none... and your suggestions, although definitely helping to solve my problem, still leave me with a broken taxonomy, popup recommendations for "geozone", and "So-Am" appearing at the bottom of the taxonomy rather than under "geozone".  So these are some of the questions I would like to ask about in a forum or IRC chat.

Thanks

I have pasted the ontology below in Fluent Editor and definitely So-Am is placed correctly
Earth is a planet.
So-Am is a geozone.
Argentina is a country.
Buenos-Aires is a state.
Cap-Fed is a city.
Peru-1699 is a property.

Every city is a state.
Every country is a geozone.
Every geozone is a planet.
Every property is a city.
Every state is a country.

You can So-Am is under the node geozone which is under the node planet.
Regarding the popup recommendations for geozone you are most probably talking about spelling suggestions. As long as you like the spelling you can ignore them. The sentence is correct in terms of grammar.

If you would like to learn more, I recommend Cognitum Learning Portal .

Thank you very much for that link.

Just as an FYI... as for the placement, well, for whatever reason it is different on mine, If I change  changing the name to Am-So it  is placed properly.   West-Africa places incorrectly.  America places correctly.

Hide the node 'country' using the triangular button. After that your taxonomy tree should look the same.
