Hello all.
I found this site by coincidence, while trying to solve my problem found . I would like to measure the time that my PC to calculate the FDS model requires, from the first klick to start to the end. If that works I want to change various parameters and see whether this fast was in order to find the optimum.
When use of FDS I'm a beginner with FDS 6.3.
So far I have found that with the command &DEVC QUANTITY = 'CPU TIME' / should work . But I did not get it to run .

Also, I tried following File: &DEVC IJK = 16,16,16 , QUANTITY = 'CPU TIME'/
But even that did not work .

On the web and in the USER GUIDE , I am not come on.
Can anyone possibly help and tell me how the file is correct and location at which it has to me ?

p.s.: i am not sure if the whole code is useful, so i left him only once away. can these needs at any time supply later.

Thanks in advance.

Martin

As of v6.3.1 the timing are output in the _cpu.csv file.

Prior to 6.3.1 the timings are in the .out file.

Is there a particular command that is required to get the CHID_cpu.csv file output?  I downloaded and compiled FDS from the git and am running a job that essentially blows wind through a vent.  I compiled the code since I use OpenMPI.  The CHID.out file indicates I am running version 6.5.2, yet no .csv file is produced.

It should come out automatically. Are you sure the job finished completely? What do you see at the end of the .out file?

I added the DT_CPU switch to the DUMP line.  The last line reads STOP: FDS completed successfully (CHID: wind_only_2x2) and the _cpu.csv file now appears.

Are you forcing the stop with a .stop file, as for a restart? I recall fixing a bug a month ago because we were not dumping the _cpu.csv file in the case of a restart.

No I am not forcing the stop – the simulation runs for the full length of time.

Post the input file to the Issue Tracker. Set T_END to some small value. I'll run it and try to detect the problem.
