Can't use custom flairs?

Sebastien, I am using Google Chrome, latest version and I have been using a set of custom flairs for almost a year now.  Yesterday I opened my calendar and all the icon appeared as broken links.  I went to your website to see if there were any known issues and I tried to remake a custom set of flairs by going to the “My Flairs” tab but the three links that are usually there were not visible?  After multiple page refreshes, which I don’t think really did anything, the links mysteriously appeared.  I went to the Fatcow link and the icons started to download on the page but then they would just stop and then the rest of the page would just be broken links icons.  I was not able to see all the icons available?  I then went back to the calendar page and clicked on the “restore to original icons” tab and they seem to work fine.  Any thoughts on what is going on?

It's possible the server hosting eventflairs (google appengine) has issues delivering the icons, but I checked the log and nothing wrong as far as I can tell. Not update on eventflairs as well. Fatcow requires more than 3000 image loads, it's very long, I'm wondering if we're hitting a limit but I doubt that. I indeed have issues loading fatcow's page... Not much I can say about this, sorry...

I'm having the exact same issue. Suddenly a large chunk of my flairs are missing.

Same for me.. Google URL shortener or Google links to the icons must be having an issue.

can you all try to clear your browser's cache ?
do you also have the same issue when you use "incognito window / private browsing" ?
let me know how it goes...

I did try to clear the cache but it made no change, still the same issue.  When I went to the "incognito window / private"  it seemed to work?

if it works in incognito window this means its a bowser issue not a server issue. try to clear cache and delete cookied (you'll need to authenticzte again)

Deleting the cookies seems to have fixed the problem maybe? at least for now but for some reason I did not have to authenticate the icon again?

authenticate: I was talking about gmail.com, etc... not the event flair's authorize button.

ok, I've found the issue: the quota was not on eventflairs.appspot.com website, but on the website hosting the icons, which appears to be googlecode.com. they don't allow to host raw file, such as images (for the curious ones: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/google-code-hosting/eVR__zTli8A).

I can move all icons to eventflairs.appspot.com but you'll have to re-create your custom sets...

How do we recreate our custom sets? I am not seeing any icons to choose from eventflairs.appspot.com at all now.

Nevermind, they are back.. I just keep refreshing the page on my google calendar and they come back eventually.  Now can see the icons to choose from on eventflairs.appspot.com too

My changes aren't available yet, so, for now, there's no need to recreate sets. But please note that even if it's back now, it won't last much.
I have to modify the application and this will have impacts on you, users .... :)

Hi everyone,

Many of you have reported issues in gadget not displaying flairs anymore, and also on eventflairs.appspot.com website which wasn't displaying customs flairs for instance. The issue is intermittent, and as I'm writing this, it's occurring, here's my gadget...

I fixed the issue, now the website is correctly displaying custom flairs. But this change has an impact: if, like me, you see blank images, this means you have to re-create your flairs sets so images are properly loaded. More: icons on existing event may not be displayed correctly... Sorry for that, there's nothing I can do to avoid this... 

Note: Amanda's sets is somewhat broken, Amanda would need to re-create it...

For the curious of you, some more details:

As I previously mentioned, this issue is due to Google rate-limiting access to googlecode website. This is where gadget and website was loading images. Recently Google changed the way we can access to it, they don't want people to use googlecode as a way to store files like images in our case. I switched the way images are treated so they're loaded from original website, not googlecode anymore. The App Engine instance will be more solicited, we'll see how free quotas goes.

What if we saved the icons on a different site? Like photobucket for example.

only icons taken from the event flaird website can have the problem. so you should be safe
