Hey guys,

I just wanted to make sure you are all aware that the market data is available in public CREST and public CREST should have a higher rate limit than it used to. It should now be around 150 req/s. Public CREST should have a faster response time than authenticated CREST and should hopefully not have as high a failure rate as authed CREST. Please let me know if you are using public CREST and if so how it goes.

Thanks for the tip, Regner!

@Gregory

I'm seriously considering deprecating the EMUU (EVEMon Market Unified Uploader) as from the next release, which will be right after the next EVE patch. Thoughts?

I haven't found time to adapt the EMDR gateway to CREST yet, but if this is causing you pain then you've got to do what you've got to do. We've had some people present some code as a starting point, but it seems like this is probably going to fall on me to actually do.

If anyone wants to step up and take this on, I'd be glad to help. Otherwise, I'll have to find some time to do it (hopefully before EVEMon stops sending data).

There are 2 reasons for my decision:

1. CCP (and Regner in particular) has asked me, some time ago, to stop using the cache at some point and honestly with the market data being accessible via CREST we have no excuse anymore.
2. I'm getting some reports that with the new launcher EMUU will require some changes to the cache parser that it uses.Instead of doing the changes, I would prefer to remove it completely.

What I'm concerned most about in regard to CREST: There's no way to see the individual orders, is there? Or even a history that is more detailed that once a day?

In case you don't know me: I'm the owner of ore.cerlestes.de, a site for miners that reaches between 1000 and 3000 unique players a day.

From 2008 to 2013 I've purely relied on the data available via eve-central.com's REST API. Then I've found out about EMDR and started listening to it and collecting data. So far I've collected a few gigabytes of processed market data and have recently changed my market history tab to use this data instead of the primitive average value I was collecting from eve-central:

http://ore.cerlestes.de/#site:trend

I've even thought about reducing the processing interval to once every three hours, instead of the current once every six hours. This of course would yield in higher accuracy, which I really want.

Now I'm reading about CREST finally offering public market data (thanks for that hint!), but after checking it out I only seem to find information about the same daily history that is available ingame, which isn't enough for my needs.

So: is there a way to fetch the available market orders with a maximum lag of 1 hour via CREST?
If that's not the case: will the EMDR continue to publish information collected from cache scraping?

Thanks everybody!

Thank you very much! I've implemented it yesterday and it seems to work just fine :)

Why isn't this documented anywhere? :ccp:
