Hello,

I am here again: Does anyone have a working calpuff.inp file for CALPUFF 7?

So far I have been using rather old version of control file, which worked OK even with CALPUFF7. Now I would like to include also road sources which were added to CALPUFF version 7, so I was forced to switch to calpuff 7 version of control file containing road sources input group.
However, when I run calpuff7 with the new inp file, I cannot get past INPUT GROUP 12, resulting in error message in the list file:

INPUT GROUP: 12 -- Misc. Dispersion and Computational Parameters
 ---------------
Horizontal size of puff (m) beyond which
      time-dependent dispersion equations (Heffter)
are used to determine sigma-y and
      sigma-z (SYTDEP)                           Default: 550.   ! SYTDEP = 5.5E02 !

ERROR IN SUBR. READIN -- Error in input data --
Variable not found in variable dictionary
 Variable: SYTDEP
 Variable Dictionary: MOZ          BCKO3        MNH3         MAVGNH3      BCKNH3       RNITE1       RNITE2       RNITE3       MH2O2
                      BCKH2O2      BCKPMF       OFRAC        VCNX         NDECAY       RH_ISRP      SO4_ISRP     SO2          NOX
                      PM10         PM25         BAP

I am not able to resolve it. I use MCHEM=0 (no chemistry modelled), but the program seems to expect various chemistry parameters. Seem strange, but anyway, they are still there in input file. (See my input file attached). Does anyone understand this behavior?

I would appreciate any help,

Jana

Hi! Have you solved this problem? I have it too when I use MCHEM = 5.

It was a long time ago, I don't remember how I solved this particular problem. But generally, from my experience, those "variable dictionary" errors come from some error in the input file occurring just before that variable not found in dictionary. E.g., missing !END! where it is required, or having defined some parameters which are not set to use. calpuff.inp file is rather confusing in that manner, the logic is not completely clear and consistent there. You have to guess and see what happens.
Good luck.

Jana, do you have Calpuff V7 installation code for the Linux? Web page with downloads are down due to virus contamination.

Hi Nebojsa,
Attached is the code. Sorry it contains the files duplicated with CAPS and without CAPS. I just zipped it as it was from my colleague's account.

Thanks Jana! I guess V6 is pretty out of date.

Best regards!
