Hi there,

the Server works nice for me, but i have two older fusion io PCI-E Drives that aren't recognized by ESOS.
Is there a way to get them working?

best regards

Hi Peter,

I actually use one of these devices in my home computer... if I recall
correctly, the driver is proprietary, and the updated drivers for
modern kernels require a support subscription. I was able to get a
"free" account that gave me access to the old drivers, and I was able
to make them build with a modern Linux kernel for my home machine.

I'm open to adding support for these, but I lack access to the current
Linux drivers. I would also make this a build-time option like we do
with other proprietary hardware drivers (eg, the Emulex OCS FC target
driver).

If you have access and can work with me, I'd be happy to add support
for this. Email me off-list if you're interested.

Not at the moment... there is an open issue on GH requesting support
for this driver be added, but I haven't been able to find the time to
get this done yet. We'd now need a driver supporting Linux 4.14.x
(kernel version which will be used in our next release branch).

If you have an official driver supporting this version of Linux (not
the third-party hack found on GH) and a little bit of time, I can help
guide you through developing a patch to put this into ESOS. Shoot me a
message off-list if you're interested.

moin josh!
sorry for late reply.
yes, i build my own scst device.
used ubuntu 16.04 server.
compiled scst and fusionIO drivers on my own.
using ZFS devices as BIO LUN´s.
the fusionIO devices are used as cache devices in ZFS.

works good and pretty stable,

cheers
