Problem when uploading items via API (DSpace 7.6.1)

Hi,

we have a problem when uploading items from our information system via API (DSpace 7.6.1), when some items are not uploaded correctly - bitstream ORIGINAL is not loaded (although I can see it in the administration and a tumbnail is generated).
When viewing the item page, the error message "Error obtaining files for this item 500 An exception has occurred" appears. When viewing the Bistreams page in the admin interface, I found this in the Dev console "ERROR TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'lastModified')"
I can see the PDF in the admin, but I can't delete it, I can rename it and download it, but not delete it.
Does anyone know what could be the problem? Thank you!

Hi,

Have you checked the permissions in the directories where the bitstreams are stored?

Try also to provide more info through the log file...

Si usas Nginx tendrías que dar permisos allí a los archivos entiendo que en el dspace 7.6 solo suben archivos hasta 1 mb mayor a ese peso de archivo no deja subir. Es por eso que se tiene que dar pemiso

Thanks, but I didn't read anything sensible in the log. The correct permissions also occurred to me, but it's strange that some records work and some don't.

I have encountered the same issue few months ago, in my case it was Tomcat. It lacked reading/writing permissions.

Hi Jan, 

Yes, Tomcat needs to read/write the assetstore, make sure you restart tomcat (and be more reboot friendly  :) in general) .

Hi all,

Update:
We found empty bundles in the "problem records", but looking in the database there are bitstreams in the empty bundles (found in bundle2bitstreams). If we marked all these bitstreams as deleted, error 500 disappeared and the record is now functional.
Any idea how this happened and why the bistreams are not showing up in the frontend?
Interestingly, there was no bistream in the ORIGINAL bundle, but there were bistreams in the THUMBNAIL and TEXT bundles.
