Hi there folks.

I´ve cloned my Production enviroment to another server and after a successful migration from dspace 5.2 to 6.2 i cannot login into my platform..

Looking the logs the current information that shows is this:

failed_login:no DN found for user tadeu.alves
failed_login:netid=tadeu.alves, result=2

The most weird is that the same LDAP configuration is on my production server and its working just fine

Did a telnet on port 389 to see if there's any firewall blocking the acess but nothing so far. Im kinda lost right now does anyone has gone through this?!

Thanks for all of the help around here.

Hi Tadeu,

I've had the same problem here, it seens that DSpace has changed some things

I used to use authentication-ldap.search.user = uid=username,ou=People,o=uft,dc=edu,dc=br
but it seens that now i've to use like
authentication-ldap.search.user = uid=username\,ou=People\,o=uft\,dc=edu\,dc=br

I don't know why, but it works now for me!

Hope it helps you

Yeah man,

That was exacly what I did to make it work here i forgot about posting the "solution" about this there are other systems that use the ldap configuration as DSPACE uses.

And thanks a lot for answering it... Sometimes is hard to find an answer and because where i work there's like more than 1k VM's and i am the only Linux admin sometimes when i find answers i forget to report them back!

Atenciosamente,

Hi,

yes this behaviour is caused by the change of the configuration system in DSpace 6.
https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC6x/Configuration+Reference

Commas are a special character which leads to an array of values for a configuration key.

Hi all,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. It seems we fixed the DSpace 6.x LDAP configuration documentation to give examples with escaped commas (\,), but we neglected to highlight those changes.  I've just updated the LDAP configuration documentation with additional notes to highlight that commas need to be escaped:

https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC6x/Authentication+Plugins#AuthenticationPlugins-ConfiguringLDAPAuthentication
