Hello everybody !

I am meeting an issue loading the file wikipedia-index.json from the quickstart :
I'm running Druid on Centos 7 (on virtualBox)

Beginning indexing data for wikipedia
Waiting up to 119s for indexing service [http://localhost:8090/] to become available. [Got: <urlopen error [Errno 111] Connection refused> ]
Waiting up to 114s for indexing service [http://localhost:8090/] to become available. [Got: <urlopen error [Errno 111] Connection refused> ]
Waiting up to 109s for indexing service [http://localhost:8090/] to become available. [Got: <urlopen error [Errno 111] Connection refused> ]

If someone knows what it is up to ... It would save me !

Thanks for advance

Can you please check if the port 8090 is accessible?

Thanks,

When I'm running netstat -tulnp I get this :

Capture5.PNG

I'm not finding it so I guess I have to open it but I absolutly don't know how to do it.

Likely the Druid overlord (which runs on port 8090) isn't running.

How did you start Druid? Did you use something similar to 'bin/supervise -c quickstart/tutorial/conf/tutorial-cluster.conf' as described in the quickstart here: https://druid.apache.org/docs/latest/tutorials/index.html ?

If the supervise script is showing Druid as running, check the overlord logs ({druidRoot}/var/sv/overlord/current) to see if there's anything interesting in there.

This is a repost of https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/druid-user/e14c-imOpwg. Let's keep the discussion on the original thread to avoid confusion.

Yes I exactly started it like this but I have this Waiting up to 114s for indexing service [http://localhost:8090/] to become available. [Got: <urlopen error [Errno 111] Connection refused> ] thing when I’m trying to load a file, as said in the QuickStart

Don’t you think it’s due to the machine ? Like a closed port or something like that ?

Hi Clem,
Is it possible for you to share your common.runtime.propertiies , overlord's runtime.properties and jvm.config files?
Thanks,
