Greetings gamers on the hill, after too many years without rolling the dice I would like to get back into slaying princesses and rescuing dragons.

I started gaming using a borrowed D&D  basic book and dice that you had to 'colour in' and then started designing my own games and modules until I was old enough to get a job and buy the real things :) I love D&D basic/expert, D&D first edition advanced, Warhammer, Cthulhu, Traveller and StarWars but i'm happy to throw dice in any setting.

10 foot pole, grappling hook and a heavy blaster at the ready

Greetings Adam

It seems your arrival is most fortuitous!
I'm gareth and the rep for Monday and it just so happens I have a space open in my Monday night dnd game. We are playing 4e in the Dark Sun setting. Don't let that put you off though I have customised quite a few elements (including replacing the skills system to something a bit more roleplaying focused) in order to give it a bit more old school flavour. We have been campaigning for a while now so its quite high level but there is still more than enough story left to play and not too difficult to join in at any stage. The campaign is based around the central idea of overthrowing a tyrant king, with many side missions and other goings on thrown in to vary the action. The setting if you are not familiar is swords and sandals, it's action oriented but with a healthy dose of political intrigue and skullduggery thrown in for those that want that. Let me know of that interests you or better yet pop down on a Monday and play an NPC for a session or two to try us out and then decide. We are not gaming this bank holiday Monday but will pick up w/c June 1st.

Hi Gaz_Moore, that's excellent news! I have played a few first edition Dark Sun campaigns back in the 80's so I will make sure I have a couple of extra water skins handy :)

With your campaign being underway feel free to contact me directly via email to discuss what type of character/class etc would be a goof fit and I would be happy to play a pre-generated NPC that fits into the flavour of your setting, also I don't mind being a few levels below the other players, (well they have earned it!), and it would give me some XP hunger!

See you on the first of January, now to try and find my dice...
