Hello,

We're proud to announce supports for Microsoft Windows Phone 8 and Surface Pro starting Doubango revision 820.
We loved coding on these operating systems and are happy to share the code source with you.
The Surface Pro version supports all Doubango features while only core functions are included in Windows Phone 8.
Core functions include:
- Audio (G.711, Speex and G.722)
* AEC, Noise suppression, AGC, Adaptive jitter buffer...
* Change routing (Earpiece, Speaker or Bluetooth)
- Video (H.264). Thanks to the OS
* Camera switching (Back/Front)
- Multitasking using Push Notifications (complete documentation coming soon)
- Call Hold/Resume

Congrats and many thanks. It was much needed port.

I have successfully compiled it in a virtual machine however i am unable to launch the emulator, perhaps because of CPU features missing in VM. I will try it on a spare (real) machine tomorrow.

Thank you.

To run the simulator you'll need a machine with supports for HyperT

Hi,

I was able to compile and install in my phone, this is a great first approach:

- I was able to log in with my iptel.org sip account
- I was able to make sip calls in the iptel.org network
- I was able to receive sip calls from the iptel.org network while the app is in foreground

The only issue I found is that seems that Windows Push Notifications are not working thus sip calls are not received when the app is not in foreground.

I hope you can help me find the way to use the app in the backgroud,

I hope I can help you troubleshoot the app,

Thanks for your great job!

Is there something I can do to make it work?

as mentioned on the initial post, this part is not documented yet.
If you check your SIP requests, you'll notice there are Push Notifications Uris. Looking into the code, should be easy to figure out how to send PN messages.

You probably don't have up2date code: https://code.google.com/p/boghe/source/browse/branches/2.0/boghe/doubango/doubango.csproj
What's the svn revision?
You can also try to remove it from the solution and add it again

Hi Doubango Team,

First of all congratulation and many thanks for porting Doubango for Windows Phone 8 And Windows 8 RT. I have tested SIP calls and video calls as well on my Windows Phone 8 Device Lumia 920. And It Works Fine For Me For Audio Calls And Video Calls. I Really Wana Pay My Gratitude To Doubango Team on This Success. Now I Am Trying To Add Doubango In My Existing Project For Testing. I Added Backend And BackEndStub Project That Is Actually Native C++ Projects And Adding Others Projects Too. But I Am Facing Problem When I Try To Compile The Project After Merging In My Existing Project. It Gives Some Error For WMAppManifest.xml for parsing. When I Saw This File There Are Many References in it. Can You Please Explain Some Steps To Add Into Existing Project Like Which Events And Register We Need To Register. It Will Be Kind Favor From Your Side If You Can Explain Some Steps.

Thanks In Advance.

@aditya yadav
You're right, the latest Doubango revision has unguarded DTLS code.
You can move it to the above block or just update your code to svn
r828[1].

@akmal khan
This is a product for developers. Building and installing the product
is as simple as "pressing Run".

@Arslan Pervaiz
You must not try to edit "WMAppManifest.xml" by yourself. "BackEnd" is
a COM project and building it will generate the idl files and from
these files the ProxyStub DLL.
The generation will also update the manifest file with the BackEnd
agents, COM interfaces... This is how WP8 works if you want to
integrate native code in C# because P/Invoke is not supported.
Instead of trying to change the manifest by yourself you have to edit
the custom Build script[2]

[2] Right click on "BackEnd" -> Properties -> Custom Build Step ->
General -> "Command Line" and "Outputs"

@aditya
video will not work on emulator. Installation on device is as simple
setting target CPU to "ARM" and pressing "Run".
Please note that this is for developers with at least basic knowledge
and we cannot always respond to questions like: "how to install", "how
to build"...

@Johan
All is native (C/C++) except the UI.

Hi Mamadou,

I want to set default media codec priority.

I find in boghe-core-rt => Models => Configurations

On line number 123

public static int DEFAULT_MEDIA_CODECS =
      (int)(tdav_codec_id_t.tdav_codec_id_gsm |
      tdav_codec_id_t.tdav_codec_id_pcma |
      tdav_codec_id_t.tdav_codec_id_pcmu |
      tdav_codec_id_t.tdav_codec_id_speex_nb |

    tdav_codec_id_t.tdav_codec_id_mp4ves_es |
    tdav_codec_id_t.tdav_codec_id_theora |
    tdav_codec_id_t.tdav_codec_id_h264_bp |
    tdav_codec_id_t.tdav_codec_id_h263p |
    tdav_codec_id_t.tdav_codec_id_h263);

I found this chunk of code. Can You please tell me in code where you are setting default media codec or its priority as in this you are giving many media codecs.

There is something inconsistent in the paths and this is why xcopy fails.
"G:\6AnkurWindowsPhone8" notice the extra "6Ankur"
"G:\bogheWindowsPhone8"
You have most probably inadvertently changed the post build scripts.
If I was you, I'd start with clean checkout without modifications.

Hi Mamadou,

Really thankful to you for a wonderful solution. you did a splendid job.for me application is working very fine. but one problem is the length of the SIP message is becoming more than 1400 bytes. So i want to reduce the size of pocket. I have tried to remove the codecs from the application in the following way in configuration.cs class under boghe-core

 public static int DEFAULT_MEDIA_CODECS =
            (int)(tdav_codec_id_t.tdav_codec_id_pcma |
            tdav_codec_id_t.tdav_codec_id_pcmu |
               tdav_codec_id_t.tdav_codec_id_h263);

but the output is still same. So please tell me that how to set codecs in my application.

No, this is not the same issue. Your paths seems to be valid which was not the case for the ones from the previous mail.
Do you have any changes in the projects settings?
I'll try with the latest code to see what's the problem.

there is no problem in switching from one to another. Just make sure all binaries use sale target: clean is your friend if there is a link error.

What you have to do is take another new source code and change the platform to ARM and then build the application. This time you wont get any error.

Note: If you want to work for both emulator and device make two solutions for each. Dont try to change the platform to test in the both device and emulator.( I am doing the same).

Hehehe. This is unfortunately a very commen problem with many people from my region. They somehow use to think that asking same questions again and again to same person would result in more information that person "may be hidding". They don't realize that true professional software developers like mamadou and many many others in opensource community were if wanted to hide or lie about their software then this industry would have died long ago.

So many people including myself are in great debt of these developers, since we earn our living on their software technologies, so they deserve our respect and trust.

Thank you.

Hi Mamadou,

I have seen in boghe-core-rt project. in there some of cxx classes are using directly from the c# classes. But you said we are not using boghe-core-rt in windows phone 8.
So, if you don't mind can you please tell me that is it possible to access the cxx classes from the application. If yes please tell me the way to do. I am feeling shame on myself to ask you these many times. Please excuse me and help me on this.

@nanusonut

As I already  said to your colleague (anilatvoxvalley), the code in boghe-core-rt project is not used for SIP stuffs on WP8. Confirming or not is as simple as putting a breakpoint but I guess like him "you don't have time to waste to understand the code".
All c++ classes with "rt" are COM interfaces and accessible from c# (do not confuse with P/Invoke which is not available on WP8). I also confirm.

hi Farukh,

I think you are new to windows phone application development. This is really a basic question. Anyways i am giving the solution here.

->Just connect the device to you system( check in windows explorer if the device connected  to your system successfully you can find the device name in the explorer).
-> set target to device and run the application. You do not need to worry it will automatically installs the application on your device.

good luck

Hi Ankur,

First of all don't post same thing again and again. You posted same thing twice in this thread. Anyway Yes its mandatory to register on Dev Center. As you are going to develop for windows phone and you need developer unlock phone and it can only be done by registering on dev center. Once you are done with registration on Dev center and then you can unlock 5 devices for development on one Dev center account. And you can deploy boghe on your Lumia 920 and can develop for windows phone.

In the announcement, there is the list of supported codecs and iLBC is not in this list. Using setCodecs(iLBC) is useless as this function is "EnableIfSupported".
Supported audio codecs: G.711, Speex, G722 and GSM.
Supported video codecs: H.264

Hello Arslan Pervaiz Sir,

 I need your help. when i am taking the fresh code and compiling it of setting target Emulator, it is working fine on emulator but when i'm changing the target for device it is giving me the following errors.

1. unresolved externals D:\myboghe\boghe\branches\2.0\boghe\Debug\BackEndProxyStub\doubango_rt.BackEndProxyStub.dll BackEndProxyStub

2. unresolved external symbol doubango_rt2EBackEnd_ProxyFileInfo D:\myboghe\boghe\branches\2.0\boghe\winrt\BackEndProxyStub\dlldata.obj BackEndProxyStub

3. unresolved external symbol doubango_rt2EBackEnd2EOutOfProcess_ProxyFileInfo D:\myboghe\boghe\branches\2.0\boghe\winrt\BackEndProxyStub\dlldata.obj BackEndProxyStub

4. The command "xcopy /Q /Y "D:\myboghe\boghe\branches\2.0\boghe\Debug\BackEndProxyStub\doubango_rt.BackEndProxyStub.dll" "D:\myboghe\boghe\branches\2.0\boghe\Boghe-wp8"" exited with code 4. Boghe-wp8

Vice Versa when i am taking the fresh code and compiling it of setting target device, it is working fine on device but when i'm changing the target emulator it is again giving me the same errors. Is it not possible that i can use the single code for both device as well as Emulator.

Hi Ankur,

As per my knowledge and as per my understanding, in your Boghe-WP8 in compiler directive your are not adding WINRT or once you change target framework, it might be skipped. So try to add this compiler directive "WINRT". I hope it will be done. And my one question are you using the same Boghe-WP8 project or you are reffering this project in your own project.?

easiest workaround: "rebuild" solution or "clean" then "build".

strange because I'm switching between x86 and arm several times a day and doing a rebuild works for me. I've never been required to delete any folder.

Clean and rebuild didn't work for me either. That deletes stuff in the bin directories, and the problem directory is outside of any bin directory. Perhaps I didn't set up the physical directory structure correctly? I can see how that would cause any post build events that are supposed to copy files to other projects' bin directories to incorrectly copy files to a directory outside of any project. I didn't dig into it to try to verify this, just a thought.

At any rate, I'm not the only one, so even if I've done something incorrectly, it could be a common mistake and may be worth looking into further.

Robert And Ankur,

I doubt that you didnot configured the project successfully otherwise no such issue. As I am doing work on Boghe-WP8 from Feb when its released. And I have never faced so far. Please read Doubano-boghe documentation and follow the same way of directory setup. Then there will be no issue as I strongly believe.

Hi Mamadou,

I went through "building on WP8" website but confused whether building Boghe client for WP8 needs WP8 SDK installed Or it just needs latest visual studio 2012 (I presume it needs 64 bit window8 but not sure it works on 64 bit windows 7 also). I tried installing WP8 SDK on windows server 2008 but did not help. Basically i dont have Windows 8 64 bit machine but have windows 7
can you pls help ?

@Attila-J S
No it will work only on Windows Phone 8. You have required the Windows 8 on 64 Bit System, Visual Studio 2012 only because Visual Studio works only on Windows 8 and download the Microsoft SDK 8.0. Read the Doubango guide or documentation for other details.

Hi All,

I did build boghe-wp8 app on win 8 phone SDK but deployment to lumia 620 phone is not happening. I tried deploy from VS 2012 but it complains with error that there is mismatch in winmd file etc. Then i manually tried putting the XAP file into SD card but is not recognized. I tried XAP deployment tool also but the tool crashes on my system always. NOTE: My phone is registered and unlocked for windows app development. Any idea what is the issue here ?

Looks like there is a regression. Browser the archive and you'll find a thread about it with a reference to the latest revision know to work without this issue.

Hello Mamadou,
             I have downloaded the boghe wp8 and deployed in my phone and it is working fine on my Nokia Lumia 920. Really you have done a great job but there is a confusion in my mind that in the Winrt->BackEnd folder there are .CXX extension files. Why you have used the .CXX extension in place of .cpp. Actually i am watching first time .CXX extension. I searched on internet but didn't find the actual results. Waiting for your reply.

Hello Nishant Chandwani,
                                      Set the target device (ARM). Just go to the location C:\MyBoghe\boghe\branches\2.0\boghe\Release.
 And delete the both folder name called BackEnd and BackEndProxyStub at this location. Now clean it and recompile it and run on your device. your problem will be solved.

Hello Nishant,
                     This is a very basic question. First of all make sure that your device is registered on Windows Dev center or not. If it is registered then unlock your device before deploy the application in your device. Which windows phone 8 device you are using for testing?

I am trying to integrate PJSIP with Voip chatterbox sample app Windows Phone 8. I can make a call but i cannot hear receivers voice nor he can hear mine. I am still not able to figure out how to safely remove audio loopback from sample app. Before doing this I made a simple app with UI and WinRT and made call using pjsip, i was able to send and receive audio.

PS- I used my app to call and receiver used linphone windows phone app.

Can any one tell me how to remove loopback and send and receive audio?
