Always good to check the signal from here to there.
But, yes, the signal does show up on the USB sound device meter in Windows.
And this sound device is working fine for WSJT-X and VarAC.
But when FreeDV PTT is selected, the TS-590s does indeed go into the TX mode, but the audio from the front hand mic is routed to the transmitter instead of the audio from the USB sound device.
With Mooneer's help we looked at a verbose log of my FreeDV session during the PTT press. It appears to be sending TX and not TX1 (which Kenwood says is needed to select rear (ACC2 or USB) audio.
And yes, I have selected Kenwood TS-590s Menu 63 to USB.
So if you have further thoughts I'd love to know.
We suspect that hamlib is not sending the correct CAT string to the radio....
