Cannot set as default player for streaming web video 4.4 Kitkat

I recently updated to CM11 M7 (android 4.4 base). Now, the web browser has a built in video player and I cannot force it to use Diceplayer as my default video player for any streaming video content. It automatically opens streaming video in some sort of built in player, and that built in player seems to have no APK of its own so it cannot be disabled.

Nope, still an issue. Tried disabling internal player to no avail. The player that pops up is built in To the browser, it isn't a standalone app.
