Course Materials: Confusions/Problems - Insights/Solutions

I thought it might be useful to create this new thread so we can share any problems (and solutions) we discover while using the course materials. I've run into a couple of confusing situations and think this group might be a great place to get/give help.

Conflicting Hypertext Elements That Essentially Share the Same Name:
Multiple links that share the same name but lead to different locations/resources with different content  (note- I've seen this same problem in other classes as well)

The Problem
In Assignment 3 the list of learning resources can be accessed in (2) different ways within the same tiddler:

1. the link in the text body ("Learning Resources") 
2. the grey drop down bar  (List of Learning Resource (*note: there is a typo here it should be Resources).

The problem is that the two methods do NOT reveal the exact same list. Instead, each of the (2) resource lists has slightly different content. This effects what can and can not do be done with each list. 

• The body text link opens a list that includes the zotero link but NOT the check boxes to select resources of interest. 
• The drop down includes the checkboxes but NOT the Zotero link.

Potential Solutions

1.  Give each list a distinct name that indicates its unique capabilities
2.  Have both links connect to the exact same list
3.  Make sure both lists are identical

VIEWING SCREEN-SHARES ON RECORDED ZOOMS WHEN OPENING THE VIDEO TO FULL SCREEN (solved)

Problem

• When I opened the recording to full screen from the beginning of the video (before Steve started to screenshare) I was only seeing Steve or a blank screen (NOT his shared screen)

Solution

• Turns out I needed to wait until AFTER I reached the portion of the video where Steve started sharing his screen.  
  • I think that zoom treats the gallery view and the screen-share view as (2) separate recordings and you can only see one or the other full screen.

After watching the complete video, I know that Steve is already aware that he has provided (2) separate lists. I think it would still be very helpful to rename them with distinct and informative names to prevent confusion or for anyone who jumps into the assignment before watching or  getting to that part of the video.

If possible I also suggest adding the type of resource to the tiddler for each resource.
