Hi, I have been exporting studies from one site to another (both running dcm4chee). For the past few months, I've not been able to fully send a complete MRI study, other studies exported successfully. Am hoping the error log below will provide an understanding of the problem.

Is the Patient ID missing (since it says "unknown")? If so, you may want to check if the storage archive accepts studies without a patient id:

  • open your JMX console (http://server:8080/jmx-console).
  • Select dcm4chee.archive StoreScpService.
  • Scroll down and find the AcceptMissingPatientID entry (is it false; if so change to true and click the Apply Changes button).

Patient ID is present, so am not sure about that "unknown" message. Whenever the transmission fails, I simply drill down in the series and check the instances manually, skipping the instance where the failure occurred and send the rest. If I even go back and try exporting those single failed instances, same result is experienced. I inspected the failed instance(s) and found no inconsistency. The entire study is retrievable/viewable inside the local office, however.

I went ahead and made the relevant mods in StoreScp‎ but got same result. Sometimes I retry sending and the transfer is done in about 10 seconds as opposed to the normal 8 minutes. When this happens, the images appear as question mark (?) on the destination PACS. If I try sending the study from the viewier (OsiriX or other), it goes as normal but still got question marks for images.

Any other idea?

Hi there,

I think you could try verifying the transfer Syntax.

Implicit Little Endian
Explicit Little Endian

Try in Oisirx too

You are transferring images between two pax's using dcm4chee on the pax's.

If you transfer images to pax1 and make retrieve from that pax with a dicim client the question mark appears ?

If you transfer images to pax2 and make retrieve from that pax with a dicim client the question mark appears ?

I think for the last question the answer would be yes, but could you analyse image on dcm4chee and the image retrieved ?

An try to convert the question mark images with  these software. (http://lcni.uoregon.edu/~jolinda/MRIConvert/)
