Hi Angel,

Have you checked installation instructions at dcm4che.org?
If not, you may want to take a look at installation pages to the toolkit or the archive, depending on what you are trying to install.

Regards.

Hi Rafael, first of all, thanks for taking the time to answer

Yes, i've checkout many web sites during the last days, including the main sites of the project, and the links that you post. I notice that those instructions are for the dcm4chee-2.x and i wish to use the 3.x version.

I understand that is already a product that can be use

My last option would be to install the 2.x version that is very well documented and there are several post about his installation

Unfortunately I have no experience using the dcm4che DICOM toolkit alone. Hopefully someone can help you with it.

It's also good keep in mind that dcm4che is the toolkit and dcm4chee is the archive.

Good luck!

Hi Angel,

Right now, the production-ready series are the 2.x , so you'll have to
stay in that version.

Thanks!

Hi,

where does it say that 2.x is production ready and not 3.x?
I'm trying to use 3.x in my project but there is so little documentation!

Thx

Hi,

We might be talking about different things.

There are two different projects: dcm4che and dcm4chee (note the double
'e' for the latter)

* dcm4che is the dicom toolkit, so to speak, a collection of libraries
and tools for dealing with dicom files and devices. You have both
versions 2 and 3 available. AFAIK v3 is production ready but may not
have all the same capabilities of v2, but I'm not sure about that.
* dcm4chee is an enterprise PACS based on dcm4che. v2.x is production
ready. There's no v3. And there's a complete rewrite, v4, which is still
on alpha state.

As Angel was talking about PACS, and about installing something, I was
talking about the PACS project, dcm4chee.

Thanks!

And there's also a 'web v3' which is the version of the web interface to access the dcm4chee v2 PACS server.

At least I believe that's it.  The packaging and releases on Sourceforge leave much to be desired.
