Hello Everyone,

I wanted to know whether there is any questionnaire/ scale for financial literacy other than the OECD scale. The OECD one is too large for me to be including in my research. So any other suggestions might help. Thanks

Dear Madam,
You may refer to scales developed by Potrich. Kindly find the attached links of the papers. You may also refer to National Financial Literacy and Inclusion Survey (NCFE-FLIS) 2019 Report by visiting  the following link- https://ncfe.org.in/nflis/. This is exclusively in the Indian context.

Dear Madam,
The OECD Financial Literacy Measurement Toolkit is widely used by researchers, particularly in India. However, it is quite comprehensive, covering financial knowledge, financial behaviour, and financial attitude. If financial literacy is not the primary focus of your study and is only one of the exogenous constructs in your model, incorporating the OECD measure may make your questionnaire unnecessarily lengthy. The OECD measure does not solely rely on financial knowledge but also includes financial behaviour and attitude aspects. In contrast, most other measures primarily focus on financial knowledge. If you plan to adopt the OECD measure, you may consider the NCFE's National Financial Literacy and Inclusion Survey (NCFE-FLIS) 2019 Report, which utilized a modified version of the OECD tool tailored to the Indian context. Besides the OECD measure, Prof. Annamaria Lusardi's "Big Three" or "Big Five" financial literacy questions are also widely preferred. However, if you are applying them to the Indian context, it is essential to account for the context and target group of your study. Minor modifications may be necessary to reflect differences in currency and financial instruments. For further reading, please refer to the following article.
Regards,
