Hi Gretchen,

You're right, we do get a lot of requests of this kind, but I believe the community at large can benefit from these studies.

Please feel free to post your invitation to this list, and be specific as to who it is directed, who should participate, region, country, space owner/manager or member, etc.
r.

Dear Moderators,

Thank you,

Hello coworkers!

A few weeks ago, I sent out information about the opportunity to be part of our study of coworking spaces.  I am a professor at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan who is leading a study on understanding the relationship between coworking and thriving at work.  My colleagues and I are looking to connect with coworking community owners/managers who would be willing to help us facilitate the distribution of a survey to their members.  We are respectful of people's time and understand that coworking communities frequently receive requests for participation in other surveys.  Our goal is noncommercial and, instead, is aimed at building an awareness and understanding of the broader coworking movement within our field of management and organizational studies.  In short, we want to help promote the coworking movement by building a long-term understanding of the underlying social mechanisms that enable people to thrive because of it.  We would like to post an introduction to our study and an invitation for participation to your community through this forum.

To learn more about the study or to take the survey, please see this website:

I am pleased to report the three coworking spaces have already met the goal of 10 responses from their members. Thus, they will soon enjoy a treat on us in the coming weeks ($75 worth of bagels or pizza for your members).  Sign up now and your space can also receive a treat!  We are excited to learn from you!

Hi Gretchen!

We have a coworking space here in São Paulo, Brazil, and we would love to participate in the survey. I believe that many of our coworkers would join and we have many thriving coworkers here. Some people love coworking.

But I'm not sure if such a distant city and place would generate a distortion to your study due to cultural discrepancies.

Please let me know if you would like us to participate and we can share the link among our coworkers. We have many foreingers here that could participate as well.

Cheers,

Good morning Marcus,

I love your passion for coworking!  We would love to have members of your coworking space participate in the survey!  We don't have a good way to provide a treat for an international location but we can definitely share our findings with you and your members so you can also learn from this work!

We very much look forward to learning from you!
