Hello,

I am unable to login as "admin" using the password "234".  I keep on the getting the message, "login incorrect.  Please try again".  Any thoughts?  This would be particularly helpful for me to restore a user on a Java phone without having to delete the application and reinstall it.

Thanks.

Carol

Carol,

Is it possible that a member of your team changed the default admin password for your application?

Best,
Will

Dear User,
This might be possible because of the slowness of the CCHQ site. One of our team member also unable to log in as user and getting a message that username or password is wrong. However in my knowledge both information are correct.

Kind Regards
Malik

Hi Will,

Thanks for the response.  I did think of that and proceeded to change the password under "Applications" and "Java Phone general settings".  I then went into the phone and logged in as a user, made sure it synced with the server, and then logged out.  But again, when I tried to log in using the username as "admin" and password that I had reset to (all numeric), I still get the message, "login incorrect"?

What else could I be doing wrong?

Carol

Hi Carol,

I think admin password is something that is part of the build of the application, and not something you can just sync.  You may need to create a new build of the application and then re-install it on the phone to get the latest admin password.

Hi Sheel,

Thanks so much for your response.  Unfortunately, I didn't build the application (someone form Dimagi did), so I will need to figure out how to create a new build.  But if this is the case, why then does it appear that I can change the admin password easily under java general settings? Thanks.

Carol

Hi Carol,

What is the project space and application name that you're using? Making a new build should be available to you under the "Deploy" link on the application page on CommCareHQ. The Admin password should only be able to be changed by an Admin web user in your project space.

Let me know if I can help further.

Cheers,

Nate
