Can anyone explain me the format of workload file for planetlab?
i.e.  for files    /CloudSim2/examples/workload/planetlab/20110303
And how are they read in cloudSim?

Hi Siddharth,

These files contain CPU utilization values measured every 5 minutes in PlanetLab's VMs. CloudSim includes a class called UtilizationModelPlanetLabInMemory, which can be used to read those workload traces. You just need to supply the path to a workload trace file when creating an object of the class, and it will automatically read the data from the file. Next, you need to pass the created object to a Cloudlet object and send it to a VM. Once given resources, this Cloudlet will generate the CPU utilization according to the provided CPU utilization trace.

Best regards,
Anton

Anton,

If 288 CPU values are in each cloudlet i.e. sufficient to read a value every 300 seconds for the 24 hour simulation can you explain why the total number of VMs at the start is reduced as the simulation proceeds? Is there a 1-2-1 relationship between the cloudlet and a VM?

Hi,
my NonPowerAware cannot be executed and netbeans says there is no files (null) in the files[] (java.io.File[] files = inputFolder1.listFiles();)

Dear Anton
Hi.
Would you please give us a simple cloudsim source code which uses Planetlab Workload?
Thanks for your kindness.
