Just wanted to throw this out there, but I've been making steady progress on my Clojure Tutorial Videos (https://tbaldridge.pivotshare.com). We're up to 43 videos with new episodes added at a rate of about 2-3 a week.

Some users have expressed a desire for the raw MP4 files for use on Linux, or other platforms where flash is not optimal, so I'm also happy to announce that the videos are available via Dropbox. There's a link on the site, the price is the same, but the process is manual so there is a processing delay of 1-2 days.

Thanks to everyone who's offered encouragement and feedback. And yes...transducer videos will be up *soon*. They're recorded, but you should really start by watching the video of Rich's Strange Loop talk, that he'll be giving tomorrow.

Thanks for the videos and for making this option available. Is it possible for existing subscribers to access the videos via Dropbox as well?

Sure, send me an email asking for access and I'll set it up.

Paypal payment option would be nice.

I was thinking the same thing. Lack of paypal support is the only reason I haven’t subscribed yet…

Not sure if it’s something supported by pivotshare, though.

Cheers,

If you don't mind using Dropbox instead of Pivotshare, the "Linux option" I described is exactly that, you sign up via PayPal and I manually add you to the Dropbox share. The link for Paypal is at the bottom of the site: https://tbaldridge.pivotshare.com/

I just got a subscription, and was expecting some lower level intros to the topics first. For example core.async's first episode dived into using go blocks without explaining how they worked ... CSP etc. Would these videos be produced in the future?

Great demonstration of your knowledge of clojure btw.

Seems like there's quite a bit of assumed clojure familiarity ><

For simpler starting tutorials I suggest starting with Rich's intro talk:
http://www.infoq.com/presentations/clojure-core-async

Then perhaps check out my Conj talk from about a year ago:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enwIIGzhahw

Those two should give you a foundation that the tutorial videos will build on.

Hello,

To plug my own videos, the LispCast core.async videos are coming out soon! I have a strict deadline of "before the conj". You can get on the mailing list to get a discount when they come out. You'll also get a core.async cheatsheet for signing up.

They are definitely good for the beginner level. They only assume basic Clojure knowledge.

Rock on!

Hello!

If you're still interested, the LispCast core.async videos are out and available. They focus on the basics and would be a great introduction the Timothy Baldridge's videos.

Rock on!

Eric
