Hello cBioPortal Community,

I've tried to modify the Order of the Columns of the Mutation Table but couldn't make it work. I know that there is a property to define which Column is shown by default but I would need a property to change the Order in which the Columns are shown as custom columns are the Last column by default. I want to change this behaviour. Is there a property to change this? I've seen that the Columns get a priority in the source code but have not found a way to change this without building my own Version of CBioPortal.

If there is no such property I could consider trying to contribute it, if there is a need for other people to change this as well.

Best regards
Elias

Hi Elias,

Unfortunately, as you have seen, we do have properties for various column behaviors, but column order is not one of them. I did a quick search of our Google Group, and I don’t see any requests for this feature. However, if this is something you are interested in pursuing, we would welcome the contribution.

Best,
Benjamin

Hi Benjamin,

Thanks for your reply.

I might try to add another property where one can specify a priority for these columns if this is sth. you would like to have in cBioPortal.

For me at the moment it is not desired to run our instance on a local fork, but It is also not worth trying to implement this, if a feature like this will not be accepted.

Of course it should be implemented correctly and so on, but if you would say, that a change like this would not be integrated, then I wouldn’t start implementing it.

Best regards,

Elias

Hi Elias,

This sounds like a good idea and I think we would integrate your feature if designed and implemented well. I have cc’d Ino and Aaron here who can weigh in and maybe also assess whether this feature would benefit from an RFC.

Niki.
