Hello,

I have just discovered that the transcoding feature from remote bubbleupnp server doesn't work anymore on my setup.
It did a few weeks ago.

App version: 3.4.10.1
Server version : 0.9-update38

All is green in the server pannel.
I've configured the app to transcode always, just to be sure (WiFi or mobile, lossless or lossy source).

The source codec is flac. I adjusted the setting in the app to also transcode from lossy source to check if flac was not recognised as lossless anymore, no change.

I suppose you mean transcoding playing from a mobile Internet connection (or from a WiFi not your home network) ?
If you test transcoding while connected to your LAN, you must be sure to select the Library with the name of the network appended to its name ([Home] by default).
Can you confirm prior to further troubleshooting ?

...you must be sure to select the Library with the name of the network appended to its name ([Home] by default)... and to play items from this Library.

Hello,

Exact, this is from a remote location, from a mobile connection or from a wifi that isn't on my lan. :)

The library name has the name of the network appended to its name.

I briefly tried it there and it worked (FLAC transcoded to mp3).

Can you send me (bubblesof...@gmail.com) an Android BubbleUPnP log file where you play a FLAC that should be transcoded to mp3 and it plays as FLAC:

- launch the app
- go into More > Gear icon > Control
- Enable "logging to file" (at the end of the page).
- IMPORTANT: Exit the app (More > "X" bottom left icon)
- restart the app
- run the app until the problem appears
- exit the app
- connect your phone to your PC or MAC and mail me the file /Android/data/com.bubblesoft.android.bubbleupnp/log.txt and /Android/data/com.bubblesoft.android.bubbleupnp/prev_log.txt found on internal storage. Alternatively (or if your PC does not list the files, MTP sometimes acting wonky), browse to this file with a file manager app and e-mail it from there. IMPORTANT: Make sure to not restart BubbleUPnP until you have sent or saved the log file as it is overwritten on app startup.

Thank you. Logs are sent.

If you require more testing I am available.

The resolution of that issue was playing a track managed by 'BubbleUPnP Server' too soon after the launch of Android BubbleUPnP, before the app could connect the remote Library managed by 'BubbleUPnP Server'
So make sure to wait a few seconds after app launch before triggering playback.

- in the web configuration of 'BubbleUPnP Server' make sure that 'Audio trancoding' is marked as supported in the Status page

- in Android BubbleUPnP:
   - make sure that you are playing a track from a Library managed by 'BubbleUPnP Server'
   - in 'More > gear icon > Internet access with BubbleUPnP Server', in the 'Music playback transcoding' make sure
the parameters are correct (that is, it is setup to perform transcoding)
