We launched our Bristol 40 Santana last week and are in the process of getting things sorted. Does anyone know what the rig tension specs should be? I have a Loos model B tension gauge.

I typically shoot for 10-12%, based on the wire diameter that you measure with the Loos gage and the chart on the back.

One last thought on using a tension gauge.  I set the rig tension on a boat once using one but when I sighted up the mast track from the bottom looking up the mast wasn't in alignment.  Turned out the mast had a slight bend so to get the mast straight the tension had to be uneven!  Just do a visual check when you are done.
