Gradient for borders?

Hi, I would like to use this:

#gradient > .horizontal-three-colors(@white, #7a43b6, 50%, @white);

on a border, is that possible?

Last time I checked browser compatibility, etc. I decided to do a padding trick. So, two divs, one smaller in front and a gradient in the bigger one.

Situation might have changed in the mean time, I suggest checking the compatibility again.

Sorry about previous post.

This is more the answer you where looking for:

Example: 

-webkit-border-image: -webkit-gradient(linear, left top, left bottom, from(#00abeb), to(#fff), color-stop(0.5, #fff), color-stop(0.5, #66cc00)) 21 30 30 21 repeat repeat;

You can also look at  http://caniuse.com/border-image for browser support.
