Hi,

How do I look for a specific substring from the catalog (and specifically a file)? If I type ff I want to find muffin but not firefox.

Quicksilver is *designed* to match firefox and muffin with ‘ff’. If you do want to search for exact matches only, your best bet is to use Spotlight (or the spotlight plugin for Quicksilver)

If you install the plugin from Quicksilver’s plugin preference pane, and click the ‘?’ you can read about how to use it

Yes, this will do. However, when using those actions that returns results to QS, the 1st pane is always empty (actually both of them). am I missing something?

It’s been a while since I looked at that plug-in, but I think it shows the interface immediately, but then waits for results from Spotlight.

No, it doesn't shop up. But I'm getting this in Console.app

26/11/14 9:42:11.835 PM Quicksilver[62444]: <NSMetadataQuery: 0x6080012e5200> is being deallocated without first calling -stopQuery. To avoid race conditions, you should first invoke -stopQuery on the run loop on which -startQuery was called
