Hi Jason,

Greetings. Great tool and Great Job. Kudos. I am trying to implement a localized version of BITE server and the chrome extension internally within our company. I downloaded the latest source code from Git and compiled both the BITE Server and Extension. I am running BITE server using Google App Engine Launcher using App Engine SDK 1.8.0. Our BITE Server is running in port 8080 in my localhost. And the Chrome Extension I built is version 2.0.1.13.

Using the above configuration and the http://localhost:8080/examples page , I just recorded the following 3 lines of test:

click(getElem("click-input-text-480"));
type(getElem("type-input-text-347"), ContentMap["INPUT4-501"]);
click(getElem("click-input-show-327"));

The recording seems to have gone through fine and I do see the text I typed in the ContentMap variable INPUT4-501. But when I play back this test, it fails in the 2nd step with the message "Failed because "Error: undefined is not a function" Already elapsed 3 seconds message. And after few seconds, the message changed to "This step failed".

If I run this same tests in the Chrome Extension version 2.0.1.11 from http://bite-playground.appspot.com the test runs fine and text gets typed. My questions are:

1. Do I need to change any config information to my local environment other than changing bite.options.constants.ServerChannelOption?
2. How do I debug these error messages?

Any help on this is highly appreciated. I posted a very similar message couple of days back, but do know where it got posted. And I am not sure whether this group is a moderated group.

Anyone else in this group, if you've seen similar error and found a resolution, please let me know.

Thanks

I apologize, but I am not familiar enough with the RPF part of the code tree to discuss this level of detail.  Hopefully, Po may be able to answer this.

Jason, while I am waiting for a response from Po, is there a way to know when was version 2.0.1.11 of the BITE chrome extension labeled or tagged. I would like to download the code with that label, build and try it out in my environment. Please let me know.

Thanks

Hey, sorry for the delay, I'm afraid I won't have time to debug the issue any time soon.
I think the best way would be to disable the closure compiler obfuscation so that you could easily debug it from Chrome developer console.
Jason, since I'm not very familiar with the new build system, please correct me if I'm wrong. I think the place where controls the code obfuscation is: https://code.google.com/p/bite-project/source/browse/closure.py?repo=build#64 and the details could be seen https://developers.google.com/closure/library/docs/closurebuilder

Hope it helps!

Thanks

Hi George,

No, I could not resolve this issue. Yes, Google bite project was very interesting, but I decided not to use it, since there is not enough support from Google when there are issues.
