Hi:

I recently installed the HTML Client to allow participants to log into existing conferences from phones & tables.  I got the follow error when I restarted BBB(1).  when I issued the bbb-conf --check I received the following (2).

1) failed to start kurento-media-server (kurento-media-server: inactive)

2) RTMP sip app & RTMPT Sip app connection failed

I am not running this server behind a NAT, it is outwardly facing the internet.

I would appreciate any suggestions you may have,
Thank you,
Paul

Hi Paul,

Have you made any custom modifications to BigBlueButton?  If not, you could use the bbb-install.sh script to automate the installation of the HTML5 client, see

If not, can you post the contents of

  sudo bbb-conf --check

Regards,... Fred

Hi Fred,

I am willing to try the install script but I am concerned that I may loose my SSL configuration, etc. (looking at the readme file on the script).

I just got the same problem as you. But I followed here some thread to fix it. Then I found the newest document had covered these issues. Mainly it's to delete some old files.

Can you elaborate on the direction you went to resolve your issue and what you meant by "delete some old files"?

Thanks for the help,
Paul

i will make a fresh new 16.04 and try out the installation script. My current one works. But I don't know how it is working.

Hi Jibon,

After I purged the kurento-media-server and followed your link "Manual Upgrade" only, everything installed properly, and now from my android device, I can share my webcame but from my computer's flash client logged into the same meeting I can not see the webcam share from my Android device and vice versa.  When I do the following command:  https://my-server.com/check/: I get the following errors in red.

RTMP sip app & RTMPT Sip app connection failed

Any suggestions?,
Paul

Hey Paul,

HTML5 and flash webcams do not interoperate at the moment. So in the HTML5 client you'll only be able to see webcams coming from HTML5, and in the flash client the ones coming from flash.
