When i do an info on a track, i see an art field:

beet info remedium

/home/hometheater/audio/菅野よう子/2006-攻殻機動隊_stand_alone_complex_solid_state_society_o.s.t./01-14-remedium.wv

acoustid_id: f4efc8ff-84c5-4af7-ad14-e9fb858f65cd
album: 攻殻機動隊 STAND ALONE COMPLEX Solid State Society O.S.T.
         albumartist: 菅野よう子
  albumartist_credit: 菅野よう子
    albumartist_sort: Kanno, Yōko
       albumdisambig:
         albumstatus: Official
           albumtype: soundtrack
                 art: True
              artist: 菅野よう子
...

I can't seem to query on this field (it's not listed via beet fields).  Where does it come from (it's present in all file formats)?

Thanks

That’s the album art. For your console’s sanity, we don’t print out the binary contents of that field.

Oh, i know that the binary components aren't printed, but why can't i query on it? I need  to determine which files have art and which don't, and the field is sitting right there, taunting me.

Hmm; I don’t think it’s currently possible to query for items that have album art embedded. That might make for a useful computed field, though!

I guess i don't understand. If it gives me this field when i do an info on a track, then the system knows about it. Why can't it be queried for? What other fields can't be queried for?

That field is something of an exception—it’s stored on files (and hence accessible to `info`) but not in the database (and hence not available to queries).
