Hi,

Have you guys seen "bubbles" like these before.  This is an established printer but this just started with recent prints.  Here are the parameters:

material: 3mm PLA
layer height 0.3mm
bed: 60C for first layer (this picture shows the first layer)  I did recently ratchet up the first layer bed temperature from 55 to 60 as I was getting some warping.
hotend: 185C

I'm printing 2 of these at once but only one of these show the bubbles.  The one on the left looks smooth.

TIA.

My first guess is material issues. Did you try a different filament?

I used to see same when I still used kbell filament

I don't think it's the filament.  I printed 2 objects side by side and the one that started first doesn't exhibit this issue.

Uneven bed heating? Does the bubbling always occur in the same area of the bed? Maybe hit it with an infrared thermometer.

I don't see an obvious pattern that would indicate a hardware issue, but maybe repeating the same print job and looking for similarities would provide a clue.

The "bubbling" is caused by the filament not sticking and lifting. I would double check the height and clean the bed if nothing else has changed.

+1 - when I've seen this the culprit was an unclean bed.  Aqua Net helps avoid this problem.

Just noticed my reply was misleading - meant to say:

+1 - when I've seen this the culprit was an unclean bed.  I clean the glass off with isopropyl alcohol beforehand and it definitely makes a difference.  Then a few sprays of Aqua Net tend to help it stay on and not ripple, as does getting the extrusion right and the extruder height right.
