Labels repeating

Hi, New to QGIS here. 

I work on local government in central VIC
How would I stop labels repeating as shown here?
I just want one label in each street...

Hi Andrew,

If the streets are lines, you can go into the label section of the styling panel. Select the rendering tab and towards the bottom should be an option to "merge connected lines to avoid duplicate labels"
