Roles for installing Linux desktops?

Hi

I would like to use a role that installs Linux desktops, with a variable that defines which desktop to install.

The idea is inspired by this article:

I can create that myself, but it seems like something that others would have wanted already, so I want to check that such a role has not already been created.

I have checked in the Galaxy, and Google'd, but nothing looking like what I need has appeared.

Checkout battleschool.  I think it's written for OS X, but it could be an example to build what you have in mind.
