angularjs as frontend and yii (php framework) as backend

Hi,

    I want to develop application using angularjs as frontend and yii (php framework) as backend.
Is it possible to acheive the above without using rest apis??

I dont think so...

checkout freshrest as module, its been updated recently and works nicely for rest

Hi Padma,

You don't need a REST interface. Angular is backend agnostic. You can let it talk to anything you fancy.
A REST interface is usually making it a whole lot simpler, but it is not an demand for AngularJS.

I'll repeat myself. Yes, Angular is backend agnostic, this means you can hook it up to anything you want.

Sander just stated Angular is backend agnostic. If you don't understand the basics of how XMLHttpRequest works, then using a frontend framework like AngularJS is probably going to be more trouble than it's worth.

Angular js sends requests to the server via ajax... Therefore as the others mentioned any framework can support it.  Yii can "support" it by simply writing an action in a controller and having angular hit that... Or... U can use rrstfulyii module
