This is not supported, and your system is probably failing because of
the lack of proprietary GPU libraries.

Hi,

I have followed all the steps mentioned in source.android.com and https://source.android.com/source/building-devices.html to build AOSP for Nexus 7 tilapia, but when I flash the device using 'fastboot -w flashall' command, device does not display anything after Google logo. Please guide me if I missing any steps here.

Thank you,
Veeren

Hi,

I am also facing the same issue. Please let me know whether this issue is fixed, supported now or not.
I have built the full AOSP for Nexus 7 3G Tilapia successfully, but when flashed on device, nothing comes after the Google logo.

Thanks,
Veeren

The vendor/ tree in Google's internal tree (that is used to generate the factory images) isn't the same as the one that's rebuilt from the self-extractors that Google distributes for AOSP, and differences between the two (i.e. bugs that I introduce when I write the scripts that generate the vendor/ tree for AOSP) can explain why some things don't work in AOSP.

Same here trying to run tilapia produces the google logo but then a blank screen. I notice one can still communicate with adb so it hasn't crashed just no output on the screen. One wonders how they built the factory images for tilapia which do work :)  I will build grouper and check it out although no 3g.
By the way aokp builds fine and runs with 3g on tilapia. So does cyanogenMOD.
Only the stock aosp does not.
Weird.
