Radio Ampache - a new ampache client for Android

I just released my new app Radio Ampache. 

It combines Internet Radio with an ampache cloud player.

Features are:

- advanced caching on the phone

- fast navigation through the catalog

- chromecast support

- android wear support

Unfortunately, the link says it is unavailable in my country (US).  Would like to try it though :D

thank's for your interest in the player. The player should appear soon on Google Play US.

hard to see, what's the problem here. If you like, I can offer the  following.

You can create a temorary User on your ampache server and send the credentials to ansc...@gmx.de

So I can analyse, why the handshake fails.

I'm getting a handshake error as well.  I'll wait for the next iteration after you finish debugging Andy's scenario.  I'm guessing it may be the same.

My server is accessed over TLS.  I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

Yes, probably it is the same reason

Quiet simple and annoying: your server looks like http://<myserver>/ampache

the player needs a http://<myserver>/ampache/server

On 

http://antropia.no-ip.biz/app.apk

you find a bugfix, dealing correctly with this.

Another interesting point with Andy's server. What about non MP3 stuff.

Like many other players, Radio Ampache uses the default internal Android Media Player,
which supports officaly mp3, ogg, flac, etc. In real live, everything beyond mp3 is a terrible f***up.

OGG-Streaming works, but not with ID3 Tag. Flac works as a local file, but not as an internet stream.
This varies from version to version and from device to device.

 

Radio Ampache caches every played file on the phone. So Flac-File streaming doesn't work, for the very first call, flac-files have to download completely
to the phone, before start playing. MP3-Files starts a lot faster, because mp3 streaming works.

If that annoys, you can play around with ampache-transcoding.
My advice is: if you not focused on non-mp3 format, transcode your whole collection to mp3.
Almost every player on Android can deal with mp3. There are some free batch converter for that

My experience:

Android 6.3 on Samsung J3.

At first sync. looked like freeze, but was temporary.

Accidentally hit "local music" (18000+ titles) Getting the "search music
files" dialog for at least 10 minutes now. Had to use App manager to
close it then restart it.

When selecting album with 11 songs, only 3 titles are displayed. Another
with 17 tracks displayed only 4.

Also, the displayed songs are not random but not in consecutive track
order, which I would prefer (Feature Request).

Looks like it has potential and I understand these early versions could
be considered "Beta" versions.

I concur what Ernest reported.  I'm not seeing all the songs in the albums and track order is a bit mixed.

you're right, the app wasn't optimized for large collections.

This should be fixed now, you find an update at google play.

Because of you described errors, I would recommend a complete reinstall.

Using yuour app on my phone...I have no issues with my server with it the only thing I dont get is the part  at the bottom of the screen that tells me a url is not available...what is that and how do I fix it?
